As with any purchase over the internet there is always some anxiety as to the finished product but any fears disappeared the moment I opened the box.

Ignite, from the 1791 Diamonds Modena collection, offers a graceful alternative to traditional solitaire diamond engagement rings. With the diamonds channel set into a gorgeous platinum band the design is simple, almost understated, yet lacks nothing in elegance.

As the name Ignite suggests, the diamonds sparkle with fire and brilliance, creating a fabulous wave of shimmering light which is offset perfectly by the rich platinum. The effect is one of tasteful opulence; it is quietly chic rather than fabulously ostentatious.

The channel setting means that the diamonds are securely nestled within the band and there is little danger of losing them for those who lead active, outdoor lifestyles or play a lot of sport. The platinum band is also more hard wearing than traditional gold bands so, again, will appeal to those who work with their hands, as well as those who simply appreciate the exquisite white lustre of platinum.
